One such project is KI-Regio, a collaborative initiative connecting academia with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Mainfranken region. This project leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to develop practical, data-driven solutions aimed at enhancing regional value chains, boosting competitiveness, and promoting sustainability. Key research areas include AI-driven sales forecasting, automated planning processes, and minimizing food waste to reduce environmental impact. Through workshops, knowledge-sharing, and joint development efforts, KI-Regio exemplifies how research can create meaningful connections between universities and industry partners.
